NEWS- The Ntungamo District chairperson Samuel Mucunguzi Rwakigooba Salongo has strongly warned the members of the public who undermine the people with disabilities (PWDs) that they will be prosecuted in Courts of law.
Mucunguzi a renowned champion for people with Disabilities noted that he has always supported the PWDs as a way of fulfilling the NRM government’s mandate.
He made these remarks yesterday evening during the Support Disabled Uganda (SDU) End of Year dinner at Ntungamo Resort Hotel, Ntungamo Municipality.
The Support Disabled Uganda (SDU) Board Chairperson Owakubariho Lazarus disclosed that with the very meagre funds solicited from the well wishers they have been able to support many people with disabilities.
The Executive Director Support Disabled Uganda (SDU) Betty Kyomuhendo appealed to the members of the public to generously offer food stuffs to them which will be distributed amongst the people starting with Ntungamo Municipality before the year ends.
The Programs Manager Support Disabled Uganda (SDU) Nsabimana Livingstone applauded the District Chairperson Samuel Mucunguzi for providing them with office space which has helped them in executing their work easily.
Nsabimana highlighted that the three objectives of Support Disabled Uganda is providing education,quality healthcare and advocating for people with disabilities to lead better lives.
The function ended with giving gifts to those who have supported Supported Disabled Uganda (SDU) initiatives and slicing of a cake.
Present were;Dr.Julius Kansiime,the incharge Ntungamo Health Centre IV,The District councillor for People with Disabilities Hon.Patrick Rwakabaare,the Senior community development officer Doreen Komuhangi,the Director Little Angels Nursery and Primary School Madam Patience and Missaki Nuwagaba, the Director Wisdom primary school,Rusa Kataraaka among others.
