The Police in Kabale District have registered a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 32 year old man identified as Tusiime Arnold a resident of Kirigime Central Ward Southern Division in Kabale Municipality who was allegedly knocked by motor vehicle registration number UBE 861C Fuso being driven by a 34 year old Tusiime Gerald a turn man of the same vehicle and resident of the same area.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the accident which took place yesterday while the deceased was seated with his friend, who then entered into the parked vehicle and started the engine inorder to pump the vehicle pressure where the vehicle moved abruptly at a high speed and he lost control and knocked his friend who was seated nearby, killing him instantly.
Maate explained that the Police were notified, the scene visited and documented and the body taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem examination amd the motor vehicle was towed to Police pending Inspector of Vehicles inspection.
Maate attributed the accident careless driving, and warned drivers against handing vehicle keys to non drivers, which is risky to other road users and the general public.
