Museveni meeting the Senior Bureau Official in the U.S. Department

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has met and held a meeting with the Senior Bureau Official in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of African Affairs, Nick Checker, who is Uganda to represent President Donald Trump at tomorrow’s swearing-in ceremony, together with his delegation. 

During the meeting which took place at State House Entebbe, President Museveni emphasized the need for value addition and industrialisation across Africa. 

President Museveni made it categorically clear that Africa cannot continue exporting raw materials such as coffee, oil and minerals without processing them.

President Museveni told hisvisitors thaf value addition is crucial for expanding Africa’s GDP, creating jobs and increasing the purchasing power of our people.

Meanwhile President Museveni has received the Somalia President His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who has jetted into the country to attend tomorrow’s swearing-in ceremony.

During the engagement, President Museveni told his visitor that he appreciated his visit and the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation that continues to strengthen the relations between Uganda and Somalia and he warmly welcome him to Uganda and wish him a fruitful stay.
