The Police in Rukungiri District have started investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 54 year old man identified as Karuhukayo Enock a resident of Kikibaya B Cell in Southern Ward, Kebisoni Town Council.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Nelson Tumushime told journalists that the deceased’s sons said that the late Karahukayo was last seen last night at Omusitego Trading Centre, but was later found dead inside his House.

Tumushime explained that the Police at Kebisoni Police Station swiftly responded to the scene, processed it and body was conveyed at Rwakabengo Health Centre III for Postmortem.
The Police have since appealed to the general public to help with information that can lead to arrest of the suspects.
Meanwhile the Police in Hiima division in Kasese District are hunting for suspects who allegedly vandalized electricity infrastructure and stole power line conductors.
Rwenzori East Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists today that preliminary findings indicate that during the night of 17th July 2026, unknown persons vandalized the Kasese–Fort Portal power transmission line at Kikura Village, Mubuku Town Council.
Maate explained that approximately 360 metres of conductor wire, valued at about Ugx 7.5 million, was stolen, while about 240 metres was left hanging at the scene, where six electricity poles were affected.
The report was made at Police Hiima by Ibrahim Sseremba the network technical officer UEDCL Kasese, the scene was visited and documented, where investigations indicate that this incident is linked to an earlier act of vandalism on the same power line reported on 13th July 2026, as the suspects appear to have resumed cutting the line from where they had previously stopped.
Maate said that the Police intend to engage relevant stakeholders, including UEDCL and local leaders, and to intensify routine patrols along the affected corridor, given the recurring nature of this crime and investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest the perpetrators and recover the stolen conductors.
