KAMPALA – Atypical Francophone day is more of sharing, enjoyment, cultural experience, networking, culinary delights and so much. This was the same thing on Saturday, October 5, at the Alliance Francaise de Kampala as they celebrated the day.
However, this was one more inclusive and catered for the children and adults and different activities or time was allocated to them.
The little ones engaged in various sessions that included ; games, movie screening, snacking , sample french classes, food sampling and others while the adults had wine tasting, movie screening, sample classes and buffet and most importantly appreciating the francophone diverse culture which they did in the culinary sections set up by the Burundians and Congolese.
The set up was simple but comfortable especially at the roof top and one had that natural refreshing air , overlooking areas of Kamwokya and Kololo at the same time savouring, chilling, mixing and mingling with their friends.
For the adults , wine tasting was the thing and they were served in shifts, taught the differences in some of the brands that are suitable for various occasions, given the history of some of them and how to choose the best from array of varieties.
To immerse more into the evening , after all that they were ushered into a movie screening which culminated the celebrations while those who wished had an after groove.
