As the ruling party national Resistance Movement NRM’s Parliamentary election campaigns draw to climax on Tuesday July 15th 2025, it set to end in Style in Rubabo County, Rukungiri District.
One of the candidates who seemingly leading the race, Mathias Rwabugumi has organized an event that is set to attract magnitudes of supporters from his area.
The event headlined by Dr. Jose Chameleone, Weasel Manizo, Suna Ben, Gravity Omutuju, Emcee Muhereza Valentine Kachaina, Lilian Nabaasa and renowned sports presenter Tuhumwire Timothy aka Timo Timo.
The event to be held at Nyarushanje Model Primary School playground in Nyarushanje Sub County is set to be a last campaign event for Mathias Rwabugumi’s campaign ahead of NRM Parliamentary Primary elections set for Thursday this week, 17th July 2025.
The final rally comes after the candidate Rwabugumi Mathias’ transverse throughout the constituency in the Sub Counties of Nyakishenyi, Nyarushanje, Kebisoni, Buyanja and the town councils of Kebisoni and Buyanja where residents have expressed gratitude to his manifesto.
He articulated a clear vision aimed at addressing the pressing challenges facing his constituents. “My primary focus will be on fostering development that directly benefits the people of Rubabo,” he stated. His agenda is multifaceted and designed to tackle various issues that hinder progress in the region.
One of the cornerstone elements of Rwabugumi’s agenda is the empowerment of youth through talent development initiatives. He believes that by investing in young people’s skills and talents, he can help combat the high rates of unemployment that plague the area. This approach not only promises to uplift individual lives but also aims to contribute to the broader economic growth of the county.
In addition to youth empowerment, Rwabugumi is keen on enhancing the local health system. He plans to implement strategies that will alleviate the financial burdens faced by constituents when accessing healthcare services. His plans include tarmacking the crucial road from Kanungu via Nyakishenyi, Kisiizi to Kebisoni, connecting to the Rukungiri-Ntungamo main road.
Education also features prominently in Rwabugumi’s agenda. He advocates for improved educational standards by supporting local institutions to provide holistic education. He is particularly passionate about enhancing the government’s Universal Primary and Secondary Education programs, ensuring that quality education is accessible to all children in his constituency.
