President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is accompanied by his wife Mrs Janet Kataha Museveni have visited Fausta Nalweyiso in Kibumbiro near Busega where they witnessed her dedication to the Parish Development Model through her piggery project which is very impressive.
President Museveni said this yesterday at the start of his tour of Kampala Area to sssess the implementation of Parish Development Model where noted that that he was encouraged to see Ugandans embracing the NRM’s message of wealth creation and taking charge of their future.
In appreciation President Museveni contributed Ugx 10 million to uplift Ms Nalweyiso’s enterprise and also distributed Ugx 1 million each to ten other Parish Development Model beneficiaries who have shown that the funds are useful.
Ealier President Museveni and Maama Janet commissioned the newly constructed Busega Market and noted that they were happy to launch the facility which will go a long in transforming the peoples lives.
“This new facility gives traders a safe, clean, and organised space to operate, which is far better than selling on the roadside, where they face losses, especially during bad weather, President Museveni noted.
President Museveni clarified that the message of the NRM is clear, people must work to create wealth saying that whether one owns land or a worker, everyone should be engaged in production and idleness is no longer acceptable.
The President said that he was encouraged to see that the people of Busega are focusing on services such as trading, vending and small shops producing valuable work and creating wealth.
President Museveni reaffirmed the government’s commitment to economically uplift households across the country through wealth creation initiatives like the Parish Development Model, Emyooga and other enterprise-based interventions.
While speaking at the commissioning of Busega Market, Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki has praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his continued efforts to fight poverty and improve the lives of ordinary Ugandans.

She revealed that a total of 2,836 local traders 1,071 men and 1,765 women have so far been registered to operate in the market which shows the government’s commitment to empowering Kampala residents through organized trade and economic development.
Hajjati Buzeki added that the facility is part of the wider government plan under the Parish Development Model which aims to support grassroots income generation by promoting structured markets and business environments in urban areas.
The launch of Busega Market was also the start of President Museveni’s Kampala tour under the PDM campaign, which focuses on moving Ugandans from subsistence living to participating in a fully money-based economy.
President Museveni was joined in Busega Zone for the launch of the Presidential Zonal Tour on wealth creation, Kampala phase, by the Government Chief Whip Hon Denis Hamson Obua, KCCA Minister, Hon Minsa Kabanda, the Ministers of State for Children and Youth, Hon Balaam Barugahara, the Minister of State for ICT andNational Guidance Hon Joyce Ssebugwawo, the Minister of State for Micro-Finance Hon Haruna Kasolo and the IGG Betty Kamya.
