NRM party registrar for Butaleja district, Kuzaima Hasahya, has today’s morning declared 3 winners of the NRM flag for Woman MP, Bunyole East and West constituency.
Annet Sarah Logose, was amidst cheers declared the winner for the NRM flag, to contest in the 2026 general elections for the position of Butaleja district woman Mp.
She polled 38,998 votes, beating her closet rival Agatha Hamba Muloki, who polled 27,0245 votes.
Moses Musamba Nagwomu, won in the East constituency, with 15,0063 votes, against his closet rival, Foustine Mutabazi, who scored 13,0119.
James Waluswaka, won the flag for Bunyole West, with 31,0942 votes against Geoffrey Eric Mutiwa, who got 20,880 votes.
Moses Nagwomu, winner for Bunyole East flag, asked the winners and losers to forget whatever happened in the campaigns and advised them to rather focus on winning the others who will contest against them in the forthcoming general elections.
Kuzaima Hasahya, the district party Registrar, thanked the candidates for their cooperation in the recently concluded NRM joint campaigns, but challenged them to forget everything and unite for a better Butaleja district.
Moses Pabire, the NRM district chair person thanked the security officers for their good work which ensured order in the tallying center.
He also urged the successful candidates to celebrate with limit because the general election is ahead for the final verdict about the Butaleja political race. Pabire, added that in history, Butaleja district has never lost any big seat “the yellow flag” in their hands.
Earlier in the day, confusion befell the camps of James Waluswaka and that of Geoffrey Mutiwa, following the fact that the statistician had omitted the results of Busabi sub county, and the trial, had given Mutiwa a lead. A supporter of Mutiwa called home and their supporters celebrated, till when the error was corrected.
Importantly, Annet Sarah Logose, has tried to contest for the District Woman MP positions: 3 times unsuccessfully. While Moses Nagwomu, and James Waluswaka, served as MP’s for Bunyole East and West constituencies; respectively.
The 3 positions contested for, have been represented by: Florence Andiru Nebanda, Yusuf Mutembuli, and Geoffrey Eric Mutiwa.
