The Police have confirmed the arrest of a 24 year old man identified as Mwesigwa Clinton a clinical officer and  volunteer at Hamurwa Health Hentre IV and resident of Hamurwa Town council but who hails from Mitooma District over murder.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists that the suspect was arrested on 9th August 2025 from the church in Nakawa, Kampala where he was confessing to the offense and was requesting to be prayed for.

Maate said that the arrest followed the murder of a woman at Cheers Bar and Accommodation in Kabale Municipality on the 29th July 2025, where the deceased is said to have gone to the lodge with an unidentified man friend who murdered her and escaped from the scene unnotice.

Maate said that the deceased has since been identified as 45 year old Kobusingye Leonada, a resident of Ahataba village in Shebeya parish in Hamurwa Sub-county in Rubanda district.

Maate explained that the suspect Mwesigwa wa yesterday transferred from Jinja Road Police station and now now being held at Kabale Central Police Station where investigations are ongoing and upon the completion of inquiries, he will be produced before courts of law.
