The Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Anita Among has asked the people of Namayingo and Bugiri districts to strictly vote NRM party flag bearers and making the Party Chairman, President Yoweri Museveni win with a big margin.
She made the remarks today September 26th while at the Mobilization campaign tour in Namayingo and Bugiri for NRM party flag bearers at first rally held at Namayingo district local government.
Speaker Among said that the voters should shun away from the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidates whose slagan is protest vote, saying that there is no need for a protest vote when the NRM government has worked on most of the needs of the people across the country and more services are going to be provided when the NRM party flag bearers are voted into office.
She contributed Ugx 90 million to be shared among the LC1 chairperson Sacco, Youth Sacco, Women Sacco, Boda Boda Sacco, Ghetto youth and the Masaza youth group to help them alleviate poverty.
“I am excited to engage with the dynamic structures of the NRM in Namayingo District. I commended them for their excellent work in mobilizing support for President Yoweri Museveni and all NRM flag bearers, ” Rt Hon Among said.
Speaker, who also serves as the 2nd National Vice Chairperson (Female) used the function to welcom several young people into the NRM family who have chosen to leave the opposition and met with NRM leaders from Namayingo District.
The leaders raised a number of concerns requiring government intervention, and the Speaker pledged to follow them up and ensure they are addressed and encouraged the leaders to put aside their differences, foster unity, and work together to secure victory for NRM candidates at all levels.
