The atmosphere at Rugando Church of Uganda Parish was today filled with joy, praise, and thanksgiving as 97 Christians received the Sacrament of Confirmation in a colorful service presided over by the Bishop of Diocese of Kinkizi Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka.
The grand celebration drew Christians from across the parish and beyond, marking a new spiritual milestone in the lives of the newly confirmed and the congregation rejoiced with songs of worship, dancing, and ululations as families celebrated this sacred step of faith and commitment to Christ.
In his pastoral charge, Bishop Zoreka encouraged believers to cultivate “a good heart softened by God Himself,” reminding them that only a humble and contrite heart can reflect true discipleship.
During the sermon, Rev. Bob Mbabazi Ntegyereize, the Diocesan ICT Officer and preacher of the day, passionately urged the congregation to “always do good to one another in all aspects — especially in environmental conservation, sanitation, and hygiene — for it is Christ alone who rewards us with eternal life.” and this message inspired many to renew their spiritual devotion and live lives that mirror the love of Christ.
Maama Florah Zoreka, wife to the Bishop, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Christians of Butogota and the entire Diocese of Kinkiizi for their unwavering support toward Bishop Zoreka’s ministry, which now spans close to 15 years.
In his development report, Rev. Robert Turyasingura, the Parish Priest of Rugando COU, commended Bishop Zoreka for his visionary leadership that continues to transform lives across Kanungu District. He also highlighted the parish’s ongoing projects, including the near completion of their Diocesan Quota contributions.
As the day came to a joyful close, the atmosphere remained filled with thanksgiving, music, and praise — a clear reflection of God’s faithfulness among His people.
The confirmation service at Rugando Church of Uganda stood out as a moment of spiritual renewal, unity, and hope — a true testimony to the continued growth of the Church in the Diocese of Kinkiizi.
