Sheikh Musilim Muhammad Kiranda leading Eid el Fitri prayers at Kebisoni Mosque

RUKUNGIRI- Muslim Leaders across Rukungiri District have called on their fraternity and faithfuls to maintain discipline just like they did during the Holy month of Ramadan.

The Rukungiri Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Deputy District Khadhi Sheikh Musilim Muhammad Kiranda who led the Eid el Fitri celebrations at Kebisoni Mosque in Kebisoni Town Council in Rukungiri District asked the faithfuls to remain with the behaviour they portrayed during the month of Ramadan so that the Almighty God can reward them.

Sheikh Mohammad Kiranda also called on the Muslim fraternity to ensure that their children remain in school because it is the only wealth they can leave with them when they pass on to another world.

He however called on the people to work hard and be able to contribute to the development of Islam because there is no way they will keep their children in school or build mosques if they don’t have money to do so.

Earlier, the Chairman of Rubabo Twale Area Hajji Sowedi Munyefu appealed to the Muslim fraternity to be strong in their religion and also keep on sharing knowledge to strengthen their beliefs.

He also called on them to keep doing good just like they have been doing in the month of Ramadan because it is through their good deeds that Almighty God will reward them and said that following Islamic rules.

During the event, a massage from the District Khadhi Sheikh Abudulmalik Kayoole Byaruhanga was read to the faithfuls in which he highlighted the achievements and challenges faced by Muslims in the District but thanked all the committees that were entrusted to work for the development of Islam. 

He however  congratulated the Mufti of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Sheikh Ramathan Mubaje for being elected for another 5 years and thanked the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for accepting to solve issues that were hindering Muslims from participating in Parish Development Model (PDM).

He also used the opportunity to argue the faithfuls to welcome and participate in government programs including participating in political leadership right from LC 1 to Parliament so that their voices for the development of Islam are heard.

The colorful event was attended by hundreds of faithfuls as they thanked the Almighty God for protecting them through the month of Ramadan.
