The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has appointed Rev. Canon Prof. Dr. Grace Lubaale, the Bishop-Elect of Busoga Diocese, to oversee the coordination and strengthening of the Pastors’ Children Network (PK Network) across the Province.

The announcement was made today during the Global South Fellowship of Anglican Churches (GSFA) New Bishops’ and Spouses’ Formation Retreat at Lweza Training and Conference Centre, where the Archbishop addressed participants on leadership, mentorship, and the family as the foundation of ministry.

Archbishop Kaziimba said the appointment follows his meeting with the leadership of the Pastors’ Children Network at the Provincial Secretariat in Namirembe on 15th October 2025.

During that meeting, he pledged to support the inclusion of Clergy and Lay Readers children in the governance and mission structures of the Church of Uganda.

> “I was deeply encouraged by the passion and vision of the Pastors’ Children Network leaders. We must strengthen this fellowship to ensure that the children of our clergy and lay readers are nurtured, mentored, and empowered to serve faithfully within the Church and society.” Archbishop Kaziimba said

He added that Bishop-Elect Lubaale’s appointment will help coordinate mentorship initiatives and diocesan-level activities aimed at equipping pastors’ children for holistic growth.

> “Dr. Lubaale is himself a son of a Clergy, born to Rev. Nathan Lubaale and Mrs. Margaret Lubaale, a teacher, which makes him well acquainted with the realities that pastors’ children face. His lifelong experience as an educator, theologian, and mentor uniquely positions him to guide this important work,” the Archbishop noted.

The Pastors’ Children Network often referred to as PK is a fellowship of clergy and lay readers’ children within the Church of Uganda that provides a platform for mentorship, empowerment, and fellowship to strengthen clergy families and nurture the next generation of leaders.

Ordinand Shem Kimera is the current President of the Pastors’ Children Network.
