The Management of Rukungiri based Boona Radio 91.8fm has unveiled her activities for the 9th anniversary celebrations that will climax on 11th July 2026 with ‘Ekiguturo Rwata Ngoma’ which will take place at Rukungiri Main Stadium.
This was revealed at a press conference that was held at the Boona Radio Headquarters that was addressed by the Chief Executive Officer Wenseslus Maanige together with acting Station Manager Mwene Rumanzi Marketing Manager Micheal Kasozi and Events Promoter Namanya Kakyene.
While addressing the press conference, Boona fm Chief Executive Officer Maanige said that this year’s Ekiguturo will be bigger, better and well managed with ‘kasiki’ activations in three selected Towns which are meant to give back to the people by creating opportunities to trade their products .
“We are adding value to the Ekiguturo every year, we appreciate all stakeholders who have walked the journey with us in the last 9 years” Maanige emphasize.
Maanige revealed that security will be tightened to cover in all spots in and outside the stadium and there will be many items at display to keep revellers inside the stadium including Accommodation in Tents.
He thanked the Sponsors who have been with Boona Fm like Moses Jaj Investmens, who is also now expanding their businesses in Kabale Municipality, Embogo Kumbucha, Buyanja Sacco, Boda Boda Banja and MTN Uganda and listeners who are a reason for Boona fm existence.
“We have journeyed together and succeed together and our staff is committed to offer the best. I’m officially inviting all stakeholders for mega event that comes with a variety of services and brands for exhibition.
He thanked all Social Media influencers, Bloggers and media platforms and The Informer Uganda Online publications that have supported and publicised Ekiguturo in the past and hoped they will still do much more during this coming one ‘Rwata Ngoma’
The Marketing Manager, Micheal Kasozi made it categorically clear that ‘Ekiguturo Rwata Ngoma’ is not a single day event but a series of activities to celebrate the 9th anniversary.
Kasozi revealed that last year Ekiguturo was ranked the largest and biggest event held in Western Uganda and this year will be even bigger since it’s is designed to accommodate children and adults coupled with praise and worship and counselling not forgetting tug of war, rope pulling, eating competition, bicycle racing and musicians.
The events promoter Kachene Namanya disclosed that many activities have been lined up for 9th anniversary celebrations and thanked Boona fm Directors for making it possible.
Kakyene announced that 9th May 2026, Boona fm will hold the first Kasiki at Kizinda Market in Ishaka where a number of musicians will perform while on 30th May they will hold the same event at in Rubaare Town Council at BAM Hotel and on 20th June another Kasiki will be held at Roven Gardens in Kihihi Town Council in Kanungu district.
The acting Manager and News Editor Bob Mwene Rumanzi announced that Early Bird tickets at Ugx 8,000 are already being picked while Ugx 10,000 will be paid at the gate and Ugx 30,000 will be paid for VIP special Tables for Ugx 500,000 and Ugx 1 million will also be available.
The Boona FM Sports Master Tuhumwire Timothy aka Timo Timo said that activation games in selected areas according to the listener base are already going and all together 44 football games have been prepared up from 35 of last year where Early bird tickets, T-shirts and caps and greeting cards will be available for sale.
