NEWS– Chaperone International, with support from Dr Holger Listle and friends in Germany on Tuesday February 13th 2024 donated a brand new ultramodern finecare machine to Kanungu Health Center IV, Kataate Hospital Project.
The FIA Meter Plus FS-113 Flourescence Immunoasaay Analyser FineCare Machine is a highly specialized and precision technology for diagnosis of conditions such as prostate cancer, kidney and liver cancer and injury, cardiovascular diseases, brain injury, thyroid function tests, sex and fertility hormones, gastrointestinal bleeding, allergies, hypertension, diabetes, bone metabolism, thrombus, inflammation and rheumatoid arthritis among others.
According to the hospital project administrator, Martin Atukwase Kafanta, Chaperone International has completed a comprehensive laboratory expansion project and upgrade of solar power system to accommodate the finecare machine and various other machines at the district hub laboratory.
“Chaperone International is committed to ensure the public private partnership thrives to benefit the people of Kanungu and beyond,” Kafanta Atukwase said.
While speaking at the same event, the Kanungu Health Unit Incharge Dr Tumwesigye Timothy appreciated Chaperone International for boosting Kanungu Health Crnter IV laboratory and promised to ensure the machine delivers improved patient outcomes.
The Laboratory Incharge and Kanungu District Hub Laboratory Coordinator Kamugisha Augustine welcomed the development saying that the patients have been relieved of high financial and time costs for transportation and waiting for sample results from distant hospitals such as Bwindi Community Hospital and Mbarara Regional Referral Hospotal where such machine scan be found.
Kafanta appealed to the general public especially those at risk of prostate cancer, thyroid function problems and fertility problems to go for services at Kanungu Health Center IV in Kanungu Town Council.
Kanungu Health Center IV Kataate Hospital Project is a Public Private Partnership between Kanungu District Local Government and Chaperone International aimed at upgrading and sustaining the infrastructure, equipment, personnel and logistics.
