KAMPALA- The Opposition Democratic Party-DP has urged the government through the Ministry of Health to commence countrywide public awareness campaigns to stop the spread of Monkey pox.
This after the ministry confirmed it’s outbreak in Kasese district.
Speaking to the media at DP Campaign Command center along Balintuma Road in Kampala, the Keno Musanyusa, DP National Council Member, noted that majority of the citizens have little knowledge about the disease which puts their lives in danger.
He also asked the government to offer immediate allocation of resources to boost surveillance, testing and treatment facilities across the country.
Musanyusa also called for regional cooperation to stop cross boarder transmissions.

Meanwhile he proposed the deployment of veterinary doctors to diagnose a strange poultry disease outbreak in Masaka district.
