Ntungamo district, partners move to scale up Pediatric TB screening and treatment

NTUNGAMO- The vice chairman Ntungamo District Asuman Kigongo has hailed the Municipal government aided primary schools for excelling in PLE 2023.

Kigongo said this on Wednesday while officiating the PTA general meeting and awarding PLE stars of Maato Muslim primary school Ntungamo Municipality.

Kigongo noted that due to its performance, Ntungamo Municipality was ranked 1st in the municipalities across the country and asked the parents to continuously support the school and the education of their children by providing scholastic materials. He pledged 10 bags of cement from the office of the district chairman.

The municipal inspector of schools in charge of sports Orimwesiga Christopher challenged parents to always provide lunch and uniforms for their children.

The deputy mayor Ntungamo Municipality Kyomukama Loi Tumwesigye urged parents of Maata Muslim PS and leaders to cooperate so that the burning candle of academic excellence can continue flourishing.

She thanked the head teacher Bernards Mununuura and school committees for concerted efforts to uplifting the academic standards of the school.

Katureebe Michael Kakuhikire, one of the stakeholders, requested parents and schools to embrace fruit planting as one way to conserve the environment and improve on the diet of children to be brilliant and donated fruit trees to the school.

The head teacher Maato Muslim PS Bernards Mununuura Kuribakanya commended parents and guardians for entrusting the school with children.

Mununuura tasked parents to always provide school uniforms to their children for identification because the school has multiple uniforms.

He thanked the school committees and municipality for considering Maato PS and pledged to continue performing well at PLE.

Mununuura noted that the school maintained the good performance in 2023, 10 were in division one, 43 Division two, 01 in division three and one in division four.

During the PTA meeting Hamudani  Sande the Municipal Procurement officer was elected as new SMC chairperson replacing Nuru Nduhura .

Later, at least 10 best PLE performers were awarded with mattresses and their teachers were also awarded.

Other speakers were Taremwa Ali the county sheikh who represented District Kadhiz, Mary Gorret Kakuramatsi the PTA chairperson, Deputy head teacher Annah Muhairwe , Twaha Kagoba treasurer and DOS Muhairwe Douglas.
