NEWS- The Police in Mitooma district have in custody three Parish Development Model Sacco chairpersons and are hunting for other who defied the Presidential orders and kept extorting funds from the program beneficiaries.
The suspects are Bagorogoza Benon from Furuma ward in Mutara Town council, Justus Kamuza of Rurehe South PDM Sacco and Turyamureba James of Kiyanga PDM Sacco.
The trio was arrested after two consultative meetings with beneficiaries in Ruhinda South and Ruhinda North counties respectively.
According to Umaru Muhanguzi, the Mitooma district deputy Resident District Commissioner who led the team noted that the arrested trio were present in the meeting stressing that some are still on run.
Muhanguzi pointed out that those still on the run include parish chiefs and other Sacco leaders and ordered the Gomborora Internal Security Officers – GISOs to have them arrested.

Speaking to residents and Parish chiefs at Bitereko church Of Uganda, Ronald Tibingana Kato the Mitooma District Internal Security officer noted that most of the parish chiefs hide behind lack of data to cheat beneficiaries yet they were given one hundred thousand shillings facilitation to help them in such issues.

Meanwhile Fred Kizito Mukasa , the Mitooma district Chief Administrative officer noted that he has already interdicted many chiefs on extortion related cases and that he is now coming for PDM Sacco chairpersons who have kept this habit on.
