The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promised to establish fish ponds along Lwera wetland edges to replace the ongoing rice scheme as a wealth creation strategy for people in the area.
The President’s pronouncement follows his practical findings for profitability and environmental suitability of fishing compared to rice growing in near wetlands as demonstrated at Limoto Presidential fish farm in Pallisa district.
While campaigning rally at Bulakati Play Grounds in Kanungu District, President Museveni committed to establish an industrial park on UPDF land situated at Bulakati in Kalungu District to offer job opportunities to area residents and wealth creation efforts.
Candidate Museveni has also assured the people of Kalungu District of plans to establish coffee processing machines for value addition on their coffee harvest and challenged them to aggressively undertake wealth creation initiatives as guided in the NRM Manifesto.
President Museveni commended those that have undertaken the coffee growing to initiate that he says is successfully implemented in Kalungu District and challenged those still asleep to wake up and join course for wealth creation.
Candidate Museveni reported that the NRM national coffee farming campaign has scored in macro gains seen through through the increased coffee exports from 3 million bags to 10 million bags and guided the people of on the 4 acre model initiative, proper commercial enterprise selection and promised free coffee seedlings and micro irrigation schemes for farmers in the area.
President Museveni confirmed plans to Tarmac Kabulasoke – Kifampa – Bugomola – Kyamulibwa – Villa Maria and said that the NRM government’s strategic approach to economic infrastructural developments for Kalungu District has seen through the completion of Tarmac works for Kampala – Kalungu – Masaka road, Mpigi – Butambala – Kanoni – Ssembabule – Masaka road and other roads linking Kalungu District to its neighborhood.
He however, blamed opposition Parliamentarians for Kalungu for frustrating development interventions for Kalungu District through budget misappropriation and misscordination of government programs and promised to see through with extension of water to the pending 17 villages in Kalungu District where 251 out of 268 total villages already have safe and clean water.
The President approved the elevation of Kalungu Health Center IV to a District General hospital and several Health Centers in the district and only one sub county in Kalungu District miss a Health Centers as all the rest have them and promised to fast track health interventions planned for Kalungu District in his next term of office.
He highlighted significant gains for Kalungu District in the Education sector where 88 government primary schools have been constructed in 32 out of 37 parishes and 12 government secondary schools in the 7 Sub counties and assured the people of Kalungu District of the planned scaleup of electricity distribution efforts in their district moving forward and rallied households in District to adopt specialities for wealth creation and Job opportunities.
The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni notes cites several vocations he recommends to the people of Kalungu District to harness and skills as trained at the Presidential industrial skilling Hub and explains the opportunities in other sectors including commercial agriculture, manufacturing and services sector.
Candidate Museveni said that the NRM has successfully restored peace and stability in the country and ask the electorate in Kalungu District to re-elect him for continuation.
The NRM second National Vice Chairperson female Rt Hon Anita Among cautioned the electorate of Kalungu district against voting for opposition MPs whose focus is on failing development initiatives and proposed several development initiatives for Kalungu District as she highlighted the development gains implemented by the NRM government.
The NRM Vice Chairperson for Buganda region Haruna Kasoro has made a case for the establishment of a coffee processing factory in Kalungu District for value addition on coffee yields and rallied residents to cherish the prevailing peace and stability ushered in by the NRM government.
