KAMPALA- Government is to give 145 seed secondary schools computers to facilitate learning as part of the new curriculum.
This was revealed by the minister of state for National Guidance in the ICT ministry Godfrey Kabyanga Baluku while appearing before ICT Committee presided over the committee deputy chairperson who doubles as Bunya south MP Idi Isabirye.
He said that there has been an increase in schools accessing computers where 85 schools are being rolled out and another 60 planned for the financial year 2024/2025 to get computers.
He revealed that by partnering with the Education ministry by the end of 2023 they have covered up to 90% of government schools which is around 1200 schools supporting them with computer laboratories.

However, some committee members like Koboko North MP and Bunya South MP Idi Isabirye were concerned about some computer laboratories being idle due lack of electricity to connect computers to power for schools to teach students.
