Kabale District Communications Officer, Alex Byakatonda, commended the cooperation and commitment demonstrated by all stakeholders, which contributed to the successful administration of the examinations.
” We are pleased to report that the 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations in Kabale were successfully conducted without any major incidents or complaints. This achievement reflects the commitment, coordination and teamwork of our education officials, head teachers, examination personnel, security agencies and all other stakeholders,” Byakatonda said.
He added that the district appreciates the vigilance and professionalism of the teams involved in ensuring that examination materials were securely handled and candidates sat their papers in a peaceful environment.
The examinations were preceded by comprehensive briefings conducted between October 27 and 30, 2026, targeting head teachers, chief invigilators, invigilators, scouts, distributors and security personnel on their respective responsibilities and the regulations governing the conduct of national examinations.
Head teachers also briefed candidates on November 30, 2026, on examination rules and regulations in line with the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) guidelines.
The examination materials were delivered to the district on November 2, 2026, under military escort before being securely distributed to the respective examination centres by authorised distributors accompanied by police personnel.
During the examination period, the District Inspector of Schools (DIS) and the District Monitor visited selected examination centres to assess the conduct of the examinations and ensure compliance with UNEB guidelines. The monitoring teams reported a peaceful atmosphere at the centres visited.
At the conclusion of the examinations, all examination scripts were safely returned to the designated storage stations and securely packed in examination boxes in the presence of responsible district officials, including the monitor, supervisor, education department staff police guards and distributors.
The sealed examination boxes were subsequently collected by the UNEB distribution team at 12:05 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2026, for transportation back to UNEB.
Byakatonda further commended the examination field officers, noting that all had received their payments on the second day of the examinations as distributors delivered the final English paper to their respective examination centres.
Kabale District Local Government congratulates all candidates, parents, teachers, school administrators and examination personnel for their contribution towards the successful completion of the 2026 PLE exercise.
