NEWS- The maiden Kanungu District Marathon has taken place today morning and attracted all sports enthusiasts, fitness lovers, and community supporters and it started at Kihihi High School Playground.
Thge Guest of Honor Hon Betty Namara Mutabazi Kataba, the aspiring Kanungu District Woman Member of Parliament encouraged the young boys and girls who participated in the event to identify their talent, develop and promote it for better health.
According to Kanungu District Sports Officer Robert Junior, the event which covered 21km, 10km and 5km category was also graced by legendary Moses Ndiema Kipsiro, Uganda’s world-renowned long-distance runner, as the chief runner.
The marathon was purposely organised to promote health, wellness and community development, the participation contributed to a great cause and participants had the chance to win exciting prizes.
Participants included the people of all ages and abilities who excitedly made it a day of sports, entertainment and community engagement.
The well attended event was sponsored by Uganda Atheletics Federation, Kataba Development Trust, Seremu International and Sena Group of Companies.
