Electoral Commission officials in Kanungu receiving the ballot boxes

The Electoral Commission on Saturday January 10th evening dispatched ballot paper boxes to Kanungu District in preparation for the 15th January presidential and parliamentary elections. 

The 441 boxes arrived at the district headquarters, and electoral commission officials got busy sorting and preparing them for distribution to various polling stations on the 14th of January 2026.

The district’s electoral officer, David Mukundane, assured that everything is on track and said that they are ready for the elections exercise the ballot boxes are here, and the team is working tirelessly to ensure a smooth voting process.

The arrival of the ballot boxes has boosted the confidence of local leaders, who are urging citizens to come out and exercise their right to vote at the crucial moment for the district where people will make their voices heard and choose a leader who will drive development in Kanungu.

The Kanungu Resident District Commissioner Ambrose Mwesigye Amanyire who witnessed the arrival said that elections are just around the corner, and Kanungu is just ready and called for calm and asked voters to follow the law.
