Conservationists celebrate the birth of 5th Gorilla in 6 weeks

The Districts bordering Bwindi Impenetrable and Mghinga National Parks are set to receive a total of more than Ugx 2 billion from Uganda Wildlife Authority as part of revenue collections for the year 2021/2022 and 2022/2023.

According to the Uganda Wildlife Authority Executive Director Dr James Musinguzi, the ceremony to disburse the money will be held tomorrow June 19th 2025 at the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Visitors Information Center in Kanungu District.

The benefitting Districts include Kisoro, Rubanda and Kanungu and the Minister of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquties Hon Tom Butime is expected to be the Chief Guest at the event.

Dr Musinguzi said that Ugx 2,086,469,680 will be shared by the areas bordering the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park while Ugx 111,089,938 will be shared by the communities bordering the Mgahinga National Parks.
