There was joy when Residents of Bukonzo county West, Kasese district, received a donation of solar panels from Fatuma Kathembo Kamama the National unity platform Woman MP Flag bearer to benefit health facilities and markets in the constituency.
Some of the facilities that benefited from the donation include Kitholhu HCIII from Kitholhu sub-county, Karambi HCIII from Karmabi sub-county and Kyempara HCIII, Isango sub-county and Katoho trading center in Nyakiyumbu sub-county among others.
Mr. Johnson Masereka from Isango sub-county and Joseph Thembo from Kitholhu sub county who noted that the donated solar panels would act as security lights at the facilities.
Ms. Difuroza Masika from Karambi parish, Karambi sub-county and other mothers who receive health services from the facility, noted that the donation is timely since the installed electricity at the health center was always on and off. The mothers add: ……..
On behalf of the vendors at Katoho trading center Mr. John Kimbutsu noted that they would sell their commodities in darkness and since they have been provided with solars, they are now going to embrace night economy.
In her remarks Mrs. Kathembo noted that she decided to donate solar panels to those facilities after realizing that people were operating in darkness epically when power is off.
She noted that she would enroll the program to all the constituencies to benefit from the program.
