NEWS- Leaders and veterans from the Kigezi sub-region, specifically residents of Rukiga District, have voiced significant dissatisfaction regarding President Yoweri Museveni’s unfulfilled promises. The main concern is the lack of progress in tarmacking roads in the region, despite pledges made as far back as 2006.
During the Rukiga Women’s Day celebration, Hon. Kamusiime Caroline Muhwezi, Rukiga District Woman MP, expressed frustration over the unfulfilled pledge to tarmac the Muhanga-Kisizi Road. She emphasized that she regularly brings up this issue with the President.
Similarly, Hon. Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira, during the International Women’s Day celebrations in Kabale District, reminded Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja of President Museveni’s unfulfilled promise to tarmac a 20.2-kilometer road in Ndorwa East County.
Byarugaba Benon, an NRM veteran in Kanungu District, raised concerns about the lack of progress in tarmacking several roads, including the Hamurwa-Kanungu Road, and the impact on transportation and farmers.
Keleb Turyamuntunga, chairperson of Veterans Greater Kabale, expressed disappointment over unfulfilled pledges, including an irrigation scheme in Nyamiyaga and a water pump in Karegyere Parish, Rubanda West.
