KANUNGU- Kihihi High School students have been encouraged to concentrate on Science subjects more than Arts since the government is focusing on supporting science professionals.
The call was made yesterday by the Town Clerk Butogota Town Council Emmanuel Asiimwe while speaking as the Chief Guest at the Old Students Alumni at the school in Kihihi Town Council.
Asiimwe noted that unlike in their time, the world changes now demand that learners become scientists in order to be able to meet the challenges of the developing world and besides, they are highly paid by both the government and private sector.
The chairman Kihihi High School Old Boys and Girls Association Turyahebwa Joseph Nyabwojjo thanked the Head teacher Mugimba Kenneth for accepting and welcomed the idea of making the Alumni Association whose aim mainly is to motivate and impart discipline to students as the way to develop the school.
The event was also graced by the School Chaplain Rev Ninsiima Emmanuel who called upon the students to love God and to be committed in their studies and the function was successfully ended by planting trees for the betterment of environmental conservation at Kihihi playgrounds and where they ended having friendly volleyball, netball and football between the continuing students and the Old Students.
The Head teacher Mugimba hailed the Kihihi High school old students for coming up with idea to start initiatives to support the school which will go along in developing the facility.
