NEWS- Nyakinama seed school students on Friday 10th Nov, 2023 stormed the office of the Kisoro Deputy Resident District Commissioner over school administration denying them food for a week.

The School head Prefect Ivan Iraguha told this reporter that other classes have been getting lunch with an exception of senior three classes and others have not yet cleared to zero balances. Additionally, the school head girl Victoria Kushemererwa revealed she was annoyed by the deputy head teacher Ayebare Emmanuel Biganja who has made it clear that senior three students will be denied end of year examinations.

The school head teacher Mukiibi Abdu pointed out that the students made a wrong decision of not visiting his office if his deputy failed to solve their issues and called students for peace talks. However, the deputy denied allegations of denying students meals but rather put the blame to the teacher who was on duty.

 Deputy Resident District Commissioner Robert Tukamuhebwa and Kisoro District boss Abel Bizimana asked the head teacher and his authorities to ensure that through all procedures, students are given examinations because they are pioneers of the school so that they can pay the remaining balances later.

The Kisoro district Chief Administrative Officer Hajji Badru Mayanja implored students practice good morals while in school and outside the school as well as maintaining a good dress code.

Mayanja asked students to never sneak mobile phones into the school to avoid interruptions and advised the head teacher to quickly suspend indisciplined students before they can do more harm to the school.

Nyakinama seed school started in February 2023 being established by the government and is currently a day school.

Relatedly, a section of Head teachers in Kisoro district have urged candidates of Uganda advanced Certificate of Education, invigilators and  to exhibit good discipline during the examination period.

This was said by head teachers during the briefing of UACE candidates, who are set to sit for their examinations on 13th Nov, 2023.

Charles Mbonyebyombi the head teacher Mutolere S.S revealed that students have been imparted with required knowledge in science subjects ensuring that their future can be successful,

Nabasa Martin, the head teacher Muhabura Shine and Sister Victor Turyamuhakyi of St. Gertrude S.S noted that students, invigilators, teachers and Police should portray a high level of discipline in these forthcoming Examinations since candidates were well taught and need to harvest what they sow.

A section of students appreciated the education authorities for handling them well and teaching them as their biological children, pledging their readiness to pass highly in the forthcoming examinations.
