NEWS- The territorial police in Kisoro are hunting for suspects who allegedly robbed money after they shot and injured a business man.
The incident ACCORDING TO Kigezi regional Police spokesman ASP Elly Maate happened on Tuesday, 29th April 2025 at around 2030 hrs at Mugomberero trading center Rushenyi village soko parish Muramba sub county Kisoro district.
ASP Maate told the press that the victim is Mucunguzi Kenneth 30 years old shop attendant, resident of Rushenyi village, who was shot injured and robbed of twenty three million Uganda shillings.
It’s alleged that on the fateful night, at Mugomberero trading center, Rushenyi village, four men all armed with guns allegedly attacked the shop of Turinayo Michael where the shop attendant (victim) was shot in the arm and robbed of cash of Ugx 23,000,000=.
Maate added that many bullets were shot to scare away people who were around the said trading center and thereafter they ran away.
The Police Regional PRO noted that a report was made at the police, scene visited, processed and documented, exhibits of 09 cartridges were recovered and the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Inquiries into this matter have commenced and efforts to have the suspect arrested are being made.
