KASESE- Concerned political leaders in Kasese District have appealed to government to release Dr Kiiza Besigye’s so that he can go for medical attention since his health condition is deteriorating.
In a social media massage that was posted on her whatsaap page by the Kasese woman Member of parliament Hon. Florence Kabugho condemns the manner in which government is handling Dr. Kiiza Besigye and other political prisoners even when others are now having health complications.
Hon. Kabugho says it should be a concern of every leader to demand for Dr. Kiiza’s release.
Mr. Basisa Bryn, the Kasese District chairperson National Unity Platform notified media that they have decided to make a public outcry through media in ensuring that Rtd: Colonel Kiiza Besigye is released unconditionally.
He adds that as human rights defenders, they are tired of watching fellow citizens being tried in court martial’s and being held in detention centers illegally.
According to Mr. Basisa this system needs to be stopped effective immediately. Thus appeal to the NRA system to release all political prisoners unconditionally including Dr. Kiiza Besigye and the members of NUP.
Mr. Ronald Bwambale Kabuku the Kasese District FDC chairperson who quoted Isaiah 10:1-4 said with utmost urgency and concern, says he is compelled to address the escalating situation surrounding Dr. Kiiza Besigye’s detention, and also expressed his deepest disappointment regarding Dr. Kiiza welfare and the implications of his continued imprisonment.
He adds that it is ironic that the very person who has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Ugandans is now being held captive.
Mr. Kabuku thus caution responsible people not to take the silence for granted. Should Dr. Besigye succumb to his detention and lose his life, the consequences will be severe and far-reaching and also used Philippians 1:21 which has a quotation for to one to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
