NEWS- Locals and sections of various educational institutions, including Lake Bunyonyi Vocational School, Bufuka Primary School, Real Vine Nursery and Primary School, and Kitojo Empowered Girls School this week participated in an initiative to clean roads, footpaths, and trading centers within the villages of Bufuka, Nyakabungo, Katooma, and Nyambugu in Kitumba Subcounty, Kabale District.
The main purpose of this exercise was to keep the communities clean under the theme Keep Lake Bunyonyi Clean. The collaborative effort underscores the commitment of both residents and leadership to foster a cleaner and healthier environment.
Ndugu Eliab Naturinda Mporera, who aspires to become the Member of Parliament for Ndorwa West through Turyamureeba Champion Baker, the L5 Councilor of Kahungye Sub County who represented him during this exercise, urged the public not to stop at cleaning the community but also their homes as a way of addressing health issues within their communities.
He urged them to plant fruits and greens in their homes for both consumption and as a source of body nutrients as well as for income generation to assist them in saving and paying bills like school fees.
He also appealed to the community to always do exercises as the only way of eliminating non-communicable diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes among others.
As the campaign progresses, locals have pledged unwavering support for Ndugu Eliab Naturinda Mporera’s endeavors, promising to work hand in hand towards communal progress and development.
Baker commended locals for their active involvement in the cleanliness campaign and assured ongoing support from their team.
