RUBIRIZI – Ugandans have been rallied to vote and keep supporting the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for steady National progress.
This message was sounded by the Minister for Trade and Industry Hon Francis Mwebesa who was the chief guest at the fundraising towards completion of Mushumba Catholic Church, Buhinda Parish in Rubirizi district on Sunday 10th December 2023. The fundraising was held at the church.
Hon Francis Mwebesa who had represented H.E Vice President Jessica Alupo contributed Ugx 10 million cash and asked the church leaders and organising committee to use the money responsibly so that it can serve its main target.
In his speech, Hon Mwebesa thanked the NRM government for initiating poverty eradication programs such as Emyooga, PDM, UWEP, youth livelihood thus tasking Ugandans to embrace and use them if they want to be economically stable.
“We need to support this government because I can see everything here. People are organized, in peace, have their crops, healthy animals and all are like this because of good NRM leadership, vote us again we keep working for you”, he added.
The Bunyaruguru Member Of Parliament Hon John Ntamuhira contributed Ugx 8M and also collected Ugx 29,900,000= from friends and Fellow MPs totaling to Ugx 37.9m. He thanked Christians for supporting the work of the lord and vowed to keep supporting them despite differences in religious denominations. The Rubirizi district Woman MP Hon Kesande Grace contributed Ugx 5 million.
John Mubangizi, chairman fundraising Organising Committee Mushumba Catholic Church thanked the government, MPs, local leaders, religious leaders and all Christians for supporting them urging that they will use the collected money to do the work of God.
Giving a report from the fundraising, Mubangizi said out of Ugx 300 Million needed to complete the church, atleast Ugx 170 million was collected. On the fundraising day, only Ugx 76m was collected in cash and pledges.
