RUBANDA- The State Minister for Finance and General Duties, Hon. Henry Musasizi Ariganyira, fulfilled his pledge of 313 galvanized iron sheets to Muko Archdeaconry in Muko Sub County, Rubanda West, on Friday, December 27th.
Hon. Musasizi, who is also the Rubanda East Member of Parliament, delivered his donation during the thanksgiving and birthday celebration of Venerable Ernest Nkwasibwe, who was celebrating 60 years of life at Muko Archdeaconry.
The 313 iron sheets are meant to roof Muko Archdeaconry, which is currently under construction. They were delivered by the Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson, Mr. Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, who represented Hon. Musasizi.
Speaking as the guest of honor, Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson Stephen Ampeire Kasyaba lauded Minister Musasizi for donating half of the required iron sheets needed to roof the archdeaconry. According to the BOQs documents, the archdeaconry needs 600 iron sheets.
Through Chairman Kasyaba, Minister Musasizi pledged to continue supporting the church. Chairman Kasyaba attributed the mega donation to the cooperation between him and the minister.
Chairman Kasyaba warned against political divisionism based on Rubanda East and Rubanda West. “Why should people who stay together, attend local gatherings together, and speak the same language get divided during election time?” he asked.
He further warned against politics of identity, origin, and religion, saying a leader is for all people, irrespective of their nationality, origin, tribe, or religion.
Chairman Kasyaba urged Christians to shun those who bring politics of division, saying weak candidates spread politics of divisionism rather than manifestos and uniting the community.
Venerable Ernest Nkwasibwe, the Archdeacon of Muko Archdeaconry, lauded Minister Musasizi for timely honoring his pledge. He also praised Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson Mr. Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba for balancing developments in Rubanda East and West constituencies.
Friday Rwamahe, a synod member in the Diocese of Kigezi, challenged Christians to reward Chairman Kasyaba when the need arises, highlighting the achievements the district has registered from the collaboration between Minister Musasizi and the district leadership.
