NEWS- The Minister of State for Animal Industry, Hon. Bright Rwamirama has challenged Rukiga district locals to plant trees on barren hills for environmental conservation highlighting their role in providing shade, facilitating rainfall formation, and mitigating drought.
Rwamirama said this on Friday during Kamwezi Dairy Farmers Cooperative Society’s launch in Rubandaga trading center Kibanda parish, Kamwezi sub-county.
Rwamirama’s comprehensive approach includes partnering with the Ministry of Water to ensure water connections and dam constructions for livestock during dry seasons. He also promoted high-yield, drought-resistant seeds and animals, and advocated for electricity connections to support cooler machines.
Additionally, he pledged to provide insemination kits for improved animal production

District leaders, Robert Mbabazi Kakwerere and Teddyson Niwagaba, highlighted animal feed and water scarcity, seeking electricity connections and insemination kits.
