NEWS- Preparations are in high gear ahead of the Miss Tourism Rwenzori 2024 grand finale slated for July 26, 2024 this Friday at Uhuru Gardens in Kasese town.
Miss Tourism Rwenzori is an annual Regional pageant that seeks to give a human face to Rwenzori sub-region’s Tourism strengths through pageantry by engaging talented young ladies unveiling a passion for promoting their region both locally and internationally.
The Miss Tourism Rwenzori is based part of the Rwenzori Theluji Festival an annual tourism event that involves community run, aerial tourism, greening and conserving the Rwenzori Eco-system, cultural biodiversity, business exhibition business summit and business workshop on mindset change, cleaning towns and cities in the Rwenzori region.
Now, today while speaking to the Brand Ambassador for Miss Tourism Rwenzori Pageant, Queen Doreen Biira, said that a total of six beautiful young ladies are in a boot camp undergoing several trainings at Verina Gardens in Kasese Town including capacity building, personal development and personal skills among others ahead of the maiden event.
Among the six ladies is Beatrice Masika Byakutaga aged 22 and doing a Bachelor’s Degree in Law at Uganda Pentecostal University, Fortunate Muhindo aged 22 doing a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, and Shivon Muganda aged 22 and a Clinical Medicine student at Kampala International University.
Others are Ronah Nakia aged 22 doing a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Social Sciences at Makerere University, Immaculate Patience aged 21 an enrolled Nurse from Kagando School of Nursing and Midwifery and Gloria Kabugho Musimenta aged 20 a student of Fisheries Management and Technologies at Fisheries Training Institute.
All contestants promise to promote and advocate for tourism, interest in cultural heritage and to provide hospitality services to tourists and visitors to the Rwenzoris.
Queen Doreen Biira asked the general public to embrace the event and turn up in big numbers and give support to the contestants this Friday.
