NEWS- Concerned local leaders from Kirembe Ward Central Divison Kasese Municipality have revealed plans to petition Uganda National Roads Authority to put some serious speed control measures on the Kasese-Bwera Road because to reduce accidents.
Last evening one person perished while seven others sustained serious injuries in a road accident that happened last evening at Kyababinga, Kirembe Ward along the Kasese – Mbarara Highway in Kasese Municipality.
Sino Truck which was heading to Kasese town allegedly run out of fuel and parked near a junction heading to Kyababinga trading center and a Lorry Registration No. UAM 552 belonging to Nyakatonzi Growers’ Cooperative Union which was trying to avoid hitting the parked Sino-Truck and collided with a speeding Wish Reg. No. UBR 686 R which was coming from Kasese town.
The injured persons were then rushed to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital – Kasese in Kasese town.
Now Mr. Emmy Makupe the Kirembe ward LCII note that the accident was caused by a number of factors including over speeding because of luck of very serious spend control measures including humps.
He therefore noted that his office was going to petition the concerned office to address the matter.
