President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has congratulated the King of Bunyoro Omukama Solomon Gafabusa Iguru on his 31st coronation and wished him a swift recovery and thanked all committees, along with the Omugo, for supporting the Kingdom.
President Museveni made the remarks today while attending the 31st Anniversary of Omukama Iguru Coronation at the King’s Palace in Hoima where he was the Chief Guest and said that kingdoms are vital for preserving language, food, customs which are rational ones and Socio-economic Aspects.
President Museveni underscored the need the Kingdoms to focus on customs to raise strong children of the coming generations and said that he was pleased with the progress and positive relationship between the Central Government and Bunyoro Kingdom.
He said that because of the symbol of unity, heritage, and cultural pride, the Omukama continues to champion the preservation and promotion of the rich traditions of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, Andrew Byakutaga said that this year’s event marks a return to Karuziika Palace for the celebrations, moving away from the Kingdom Chambers where previous coronations were held.
