Bishop Asiimwe and his wife Maama who completes 3 years of Gospel Ministry in North Kigezi tomorrow March 12th, will hold a Thanksgiving Service at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano as he has done in the past 2 years.

While addressing a Press conference at the Diocesan Board Room, Bishop Asiimwe said that this year’s installation Thanksgiving ceremony will graced by the Archbishop of Church of Uganda of The Most Rev Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu who use the occasssion to bid farewell to North Kigezi Diocese Christians as he prepares to retire next year.

Bishop Asiimwe announced that the Archbishop will arrive in the Diocese on  Friday March 13th and will be welcomed at Kahengye Bridge which borders South Ankole Diocese and North Kigezi and called on Christians to turn up in large numbers to welcome the Archbishop and bid him farewell.

The Bishop highlighted on several achievements made during his 3 years of service which include intensive prayers and Gospel preaching, refresher courses for the clergy, fighting homosexuality and gender based violence, revival of Church of Uganda based institutions like Makobore High school and Kinyasano Girls School and reintroducing morning prayers in Church of Uganda founded schools.

Bishop Asiimwe therefore called on all elected leaders in the Church or in politics to make the habit of accountability their culture so that the people who entrusted with leadership can have high hopes in them.

Earlier, Bishop Asiimwe who has just returned from the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) Assembly in Nigeria, said that the Church is committed to re-order the Anglican Communion in line with the Church doctrine of Revival aimed at ensuring that the Church does not disengage from its original traditional Anglican Communion.

The Global Anglican Future Conference is a conservative global movement of Anglicans, representing a significant portion of the worldwide Anglican Communion, aimed at upholding traditional biblical teaching and opposing liberal theological shifts.

The Global Anglican Future Conference which elected Archbishop Laurent Mbanda from Rwanda as their leader was founded in 2008 in Jerusalem and it acts as a “confessing” fellowship, focusing on mission, evangelism, and upholding the Jerusalem Declaration.
