KAMPALA– Members of Parliament from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) have begun departing from Parliament to Entebbe State House, where the NRM Parliamentary Caucus is scheduled to meet today.
According to Alex Kintu Brandon, Spokesperson for the NRM Parliamentary Caucus, the primary agenda of the meeting is to rectify errors made during the rationalization of certain government agencies.
Brandon clarified that this is not an attempt to undermine Parliament’s decisions, but rather to harmonize the positions of the Executive and Parliament, particularly regarding entities that appear to be duplicating the functions of other government ministries.
The meeting comes amidst allegations that Parliament had intentionally refused to merge certain entities due to conflicts of interest among some MPs, which had also led to corruption accusations.
The NRM Party Chairperson, President Yoweri Museveni, is expected to chair the meeting.
