Matiita after picking nominations from Rukungiri District NRM offices

Kabale District Electoral Commission Returning Officer Ms Nansubuga Aisha has declared Sentaro Byamugisha as the duly elected Mayor of Kabale Municipality after getting the highest number of votes and defeated his rival Sam Arinaitwe.

According to results released by Ms Nansubuga, the incumbent Kabale Municipality Mayor Sentaro Byamugisha got 8,270 votes followed by Sam Arinaitwe who got 5292 votes while Mugisha got 203 votes and Hussein Monday 94 votes.

In Rukungiri Municipality, National Resistance Movement’s Boaz Matita was declared the winner after he got 5,781 defeating his closest rival Denis Ngabirano who got 5,147 with a difference of 634 votes.

In Kisoro Municipality, Independent Musician Mbonigaba John King won with a landslide after securing 4,189 votes ahead of Namabajima Alex who got 1,789 votes while Ndikuyeze Ramathan got 808 votes, Tuyishime Richard Caleb got 106 votes and Ahimbisibwe Owen Wilber trailed with 18 votes.
