NEWS- Nwoya District is making significant strides in service delivery and community empowerment. A meeting between the district leadership and the RDC Secretariat, led by Maj. Martha Asiimwe, the RDC Secretariat Head, and her Deputy, Dr. Str. Akiror MaryGrace, highlighted key achievements, including the success of the UGIFT small-scale irrigation program, which has boosted local agricultural initiatives.
The district’s agricultural engineer was praised for promoting irrigation systems, and local farmers have benefited from the program despite some documentation challenges.
The district’s efforts in enhancing infrastructure were also acknowledged, particularly the completion of roads with a 400 million shilling investment.
The government’s ongoing support for education and health facilities was another key point of discussion, with the district on track with its education and health upgrades.
The integration of the Parish Development Model (PDM) and the Emyooga program has helped local producers access markets, including exporting tomatoes and vegetables to South Sudan.
RDC Nwoya and the leadership expressed gratitude for the government’s continued support, emphasizing its positive impact on the community. They reaffirmed their commitment to overcoming challenges and ensuring sustainable development.
