KAMPALA- Opposition in parliament has vowed to join people in Kiteezi who lost their loved ones and those who lost their properties during the Kiteezi landfill incident to take government and Kampala capital city authority to court.
Speaking to the media at parliament, the leader of opposition who also doubles as Nakawa west MP Joel Ssenyonyi noted that the incident that happened to Kiteezi was negligence of the highest order because it was well known by the officials of KCCA that any time the garbage was to cause a deserter and there were warnings but nothing was done to prevent the deserter.
Joel Ssenyonyi demanded government to move faster and restore livelihoods of the affected persons and to compensate all those affected by the incident.
He added that if government fails to immediately compensate the affected people, as opposition are going to engage those people and take government to court.

Joel Ssenyonyi further noted that it is very sad that the government has not yet held anybody responsible for the known deserter which happened to Kiteezi and claimed lives of many people and even loss of properties.

He has also tasked government to come up and address the nation about the clear plan to deal with the garbage because now people are stuck with garbage in their homes
