RUKUNGIRI- Over 1,900 Primary seven candidates from 66 private schools in Rubabo County are set to sit for Pre-Mock Examination courtesy of the area aspiring Member of Parliament Hon Lawrence Mujuni Mpitsi Singa Pac.

The examination is part of his strategy to contribute the education sector and ensuring the learners are used to the National examination setting so that they can perform better at the end of their Primary academic cycle.

The examinations set by Target examiners are an additional to the one he distributed a fortnight ago to all government schools in the same legislation area.

Muhumuza Benjamin, the Headteacher Kembundu Primary School hailed Mpitsi for thinking about the future of the young generation stressing that this is meant to save the resources and elevating the community from illiteracy.

Nabasa Frank pointed out that fellow administrators shouldn’t stop at calling politicians at fundraisings but also engage them in school meetings as stakeholders in the academic system.

Other head teachers hailed Mujuni Mpitsi for not only considering the education sector but even other sectors that are aimed at elevating the economic social welfare of the natives in the area. They also lauded the aspiring legislator for thinking about supporting Private schools with such examination, promising to rally behind him when time comes.

During his remarks during the examination distribution in Buyanja, Kebisoni, Nyarushanje and Nyakishenyi respectively, Mujuni Mpitsi stressed that he started supporting education many years ago and promised to keep the candle burning since education of Ugandan children is making their future bright.

Mpitsi added that when the community is educated, development is a must since the educated natives can share the burden in case of any need in their area.

Mpitsi used the same opportunity to announce that he has secured 5 vacancies for each of the 40 parishes in Rubabo County, summing up to over 200 students that will soon enroll at MTAC for technical related courses in a bid to create self-employment that will in turn alleviate households from poverty.

“I have so far secured over 200 vacancies for Rubabo county learners to join MTAC to attain skills courses. This will be done before December this year. Each parish has 5 slots that I will soon tell you how to enroll” Mpitsi said.

He assured the headers that Education development is from helping one another narrating how one of the head teachers from Nyakishenyi Sub County got him from a herdsman to class.

Emphasized that education is the solution to the diminishing land resources pointing out that an educated child can decide to venture into something that earns them a reasonable income than dependence on land that is getting depleted every day that goes by.

The Chairman of Kebisoni zonal centre who is also the Kariire Primary School Headteacher narrated how the private schools had become a thorn in his leg for net benefitting in the recent distribution emphasising that their heart are now at peace.

He asked the Head teachers to submit results at the end of the marking exercise for comparison and assessment in the pre mock exams they are set to sit for effective Tuesday July 2nd 2024.
