KASESE- Over 600 young mothers who have been undergoing a vocational skills’ training at the Save a Mother skilling Centres in Kasese district yesterday graduated with a call on them to further their skills on order for them to be able to tap big employment opportunities.
The Graduation Ceremony that saw the young mothers graduate in tailing and garment cutting hair dressing and salon management was held at Karambi Playground in Karambi Sub-county, Bukonzo County West.
Officiating at the function, the Hoima City Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Asinasi Nyakato told the graduating class that upgrading their levels comes along with many opportunities including grabbing what she called big employment opportunities.
The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament who is the sponsor of the skilling centres told the congregation that she initiated the project to cater for the young mothers who are school dropouts acquire skills for economic empowerment.
She stressed that the project was also meant to benefit the youth regardless of their political affiliations.
Some of the event including Mr. Paddy Muhindo, the Karambi Sub-county Chairperson and Jackline Biira, the District Councilor said the project has helped the beneficiaries to fight against domestic violence.
