The Electoral Commission on Thursday handed over a Certificate of Registration to the promoters of the People’s Front For Freedom party and this development marks a significant milestone in the party’s journey, formally recognizing it as a political party in Uganda.
The certificate was handed over today evening at the Electoral Commission headquarters in the Industrial Area.
According to the Electoral Commission, the party’s registration process began on May 16th 2025, when the application was gazetted, inviting any objections within 14 days.
The party’s details include the name which is People’s Front for Freedom Party located at Plot-6, Katonga Road whose colors include White with a stripe of Royal Blue and the slogan is “Freedom for all – All for freedom”.
The Electoral Commission spokesperson Julius Mucunguzi explained that the Commission acted in compliance with the Political Parties and Organizations Act of 2005 and noted that the publication of the application in the Gazette was to inform the public and invite any objections within the specified period.
With the certificate of registration, Peoples Front for Freedom is now a formally recognized political party in Uganda and the Electoral Commission will continue to oversee the party’s activities and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
