NEWS- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called on all political, cultural and Religious Leaders, private sector players, civil society, media institutions and institutions of government to support the 6th National Population and Housing Census that will start on 10th May 2024.
President Museveni plea for the support for the Census is contained in a massage he released yesterday where he said that that the successful execution of the Census will influence the wellbeing of all Ugandans and progress the country towards the desired social economic transformation.
The President noted that there is need to plan for the country based on accurate information about the people and resources as the Country work towards realizing Uganda’s Vision 2040 and the information from the Census will support the government, private sector, cultural and religious, civil society and other development partners in service delivery.
President Museveni also observed that the information from the National Population and Housing Census will provide the basis for planning and provision of social services such as education, health and transportation at local and national level.
The President has therefore called on all Ugandans to avail themselves and provide honest answers for the questions that will be asked in order to process the accurate information about their household and community.
