The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has extended his campaign trail to Bunyoro Sub region and promised an additional industrial park to Kibaale District to add to the already planned Kabalega industrial park tuned for petroleum products.
While campaign at Buyanja Secondary school Playgrounds at Buyanja Secondary school Playgrounds in Kibale District December 9th, President Museveni tasked leaders in the District to find vast land to host the planned additional industrial park with at least 1 square mile and directed the Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja to follow up on several service delivery commitments for Kibaale District.
Presidential Candidate Museveni has confirmed commencement of tarmacking Mpara – Kyegegwa – Hapuyo – Karuguza road as part of the major infrastructural development initiatives in Kibaale District and directed the Prime Minister to resolve the land contest over the forest reserve in the District promptly.
He questioned residents of Kibaale district on the utilisation of seedlings distributed to them under Operation Wealth Creation following testimonies of several beneficiaries in several other parts of the country including Karamoja where Operation Wealth Creation showcased fruit gardens, coffee plantations, cows and other projects initiated by the seed capital.
President Museveni advised the people of Kibaale District to emulate success stories of the 4 acre model initiative and NRM’s recommended profitable enterprises to end poverty in their households and emphasizes the distinction between wealth and development as he rallied the people of Kibaale district to focus income income generating activities as individuals and households.
Presidential candidate Museveni advised the people of Kibaale District not to be blurred by the explendit infrastructure developments in their area and forget about improving their homestead incomes which is the cornerstone for national development.
He promised residents of Kibaale District to further boost value addition initiatives of their agro produce a jobs creation creation strategy and noted that the initiative will be anchored on vast industries with unmet need value addition.
President Museveni further listed the vast job opportunity sectors recommended for the people of Kibaale district that include commercial agriculture, artisanship and Manufacturing, services sector and skills as demonstrated by graduates of the presidential zonal Industrial Skilling Hubs.
He also commended the role played by the Local Defense Unit and residents of Kibaale district to counter ADF terrorists and affirmed government’s readiness to repell any of aggression intended to disabilize the country and highlighted that peace and security as a major contribution of the NRM government to Uganda followed by development, wealth creation, jobs and others.
The President was accompanied by top NRM leaders led by the National Vice Chairperson (Female) Rt Hon Anita Among and many other leaders from Bunyoro Sub region.
