Nabbanja takes a photo with Kikuube District Leaders

NEWS- The Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah on Friday joined the people of Kikuube to commission a new administration block for the District that was recently created from the mother district of Hoima with the purpose of bringing services closer.

The facility was constructed with funding from Office of the Prine Minister through the Development Response to Displacement impacts Project at a cost of Ugx 2.38 billion.

The Development Response to Displacement impacts Project was planned to run for 5 years and end ended in December 2023 and it had 4 main components which included the following, social economic infrastructure development at 60%, sustainable environment and natural resource management at 25% and economic empowerment through livelihood at 15%.

The Prime Minister said that the newly constructed administration block is a symbol of the commitment to strengthen local governance and bring essential services closer to the people. 

She said that the new block will serve as a hub for decision-making, service delivery and above all community engagement and the function was also organized to celebrate 5 years for Kikuube district.

Kikuube District Chairman Peter Banura spearheaded the construction of the new administration block and the function was attended by area MPs, the Resident District Commissioner Amlan Tumusiime, Development partners, religious and opinion leaders.
