The Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja has delivered a keynote address at the Harvard Business School Africa Business Conference in the United State over the weekend.
The Prime Minister emphasised the need for Africa to define its own development path, shape global narratives, and lead in areas where it holds a natural advantage.
Prime Minister Nabbanja also made it categorically clear that Uganda, and indeed the African continent, is one of the most compelling investment destinations around the world because of our abundant natural resources, growing markets and expanding digital ecosystems.
Rt Hon Nabbanja pointed out that the cure to Africa’s under-development is value addition to raw materials for industrialisation and that is why Uganda is working to lower the cost of electricity and labour, and to build efficient railway and water transport systems to attract further investment and promote industrialisation.
She noted that Africa should continue to set its terms in global engagements, and this requires unity, strategic clarity and confidence.
