ENTEBBE – As part of their strategic efforts to draw closer to the key communities they serve, Lapaire a multi national eye care entity has opened up its operations in Kitooro, Entebbe.
This deliberate move in partnership with Vivo Energy is the beginning of the many since most of the drivers on the road face a challenge of eye care services that are affordable, high quality, high -end and stylish at the same time.
Besides that, the rationale is also aimed at reaching out to the people around Entebbe and its surrounding not forgetting those in transit out of Uganda.
Speaking at the Press Conference at their newly opened branch, Oliver Mwanko, public relations officer said that they making 6 years in the country and have expanded with over 80 outlets in the Africa and the 16th in Uganda.
“Most people need glasses but they are not aware about it. Having them is being considered expensive and we are here to bridge that gap. According to Ministry of Health, 3.5 million people need eye care services and since our inception, we are investing into various campaigns like road safety, community awareness days, career guidance and many others.
Relatedly, 14 percent of the drivers have eye issues and we are here to handle this and this why we are working in these areas and those places were most of them meet”. Mwanko added.
Roseline Kilonzo , Retail Marketing Director noted that opening up the Entebbe branch is a big deal because it is marking their 16th shop which is a great opportunity.
She also stressed that most of the clients are new and they are going to spread the word and also let them know that they are moving closer to serve them better.
“We are going to have drives, promotions, marketing incentives, discounts and outreaches to people so that they can know more of our campaigns and appreciate the work we are doing as well as improving lives.
Our products and services are unique and very different from the rest. These include; blue light lenses, Photo chromic and many other gadgets. Glasses should be for a reason needed and must be comfortable.
We take pride in the proximity to our people, customer experience and that is why are spreading more so they we can reach out to the people near us “. Kilonzo asserted.
Kenethh Twinamatsiko, Operations Manager, Lapaire emphasized that the partnership with Shell Vivo energy has been happening and has been ongoing in other countries like Ivory Coast were delighted to their first one in Uganda in Entebbe.
He also demiscifyed the perception among most people who think that eye care is expensive and them having many branches and one in Entebbe will get closer to communities of Kitooro, Katabi, Nakiwogo, Nsamizi, Lunnyo, Lugonjo, and others around which have been served by the nearest in Zana.
Additionally, Lapaire has spread out Branches in Ntinda, Kampala Rd, Kabalagala, Gayaza, Nansana and many others are yet to come.
